Telehealth Appointments
Northern Urology is passionate about providing expert care to our patients, regardless of geographic boundaries. The value of video consulting has been recognised for many years.
Our telehealth appointments are conducted using Microsoft Teams, allowing you to meet with your specialist by video without needing to travel to the clinic.
Telehealth provides:
- Convenient access to specialist care from home
- Reduced travel time and costs
- Greater access for patients living in regional and remote areas
- The option to include your GP, carer, family member or interpreter where appropriate
What happens next?
1. Book
Contact our clinic to arrange your telehealth appointment. Once your appointment has been booked, you will receive an email containing a video link for your consultation.
2. Join
Around 5-10 minutes before your appointment, open the email and click the video link to join your telehealth appointment.
3. Connect
Follow the prompts on your screen to join the meeting. Once you have joined, your clinician will receive a notification and will connect with you when they are ready to begin your consultation.
Before your appointment
To help your telehealth appointment run smoothly:
- Find a quiet, private location where you can speak comfortably with your clinician
- Make sure you have a reliable internet connection
- Use a device with a camera, microphone and speakers, such as a smartphone, tablet or computer
- Have your device ready and join the meeting 5–10 minutes before your scheduled appointment
If you are disconnected
If your meeting drops out or you are disconnected, simply return to the original email and click the same video link again to rejoin your appointment.
